A portion of class fees support 2A advocacy. How does that work?
Starting October 2024, a portion of every class fee supports the Hawaii Firearms Coalition (hifico.org) and Attorney Alan Beck's legal defense efforts on behalf of Hawaii firearm owners.
What is the Basic Handgun Safety class?
Our Basic Firearm Safety class covers pistol mechanics, pistol maintenance and cleaning, Hawaii gun regulations, and safety fundamentals for home storage and domestic environments. We also cover mental health, suicide prevention, and domestic-violence-related topics alongside shooting techniques.
What does the License to Carry (LTC) class cover?
Our comprehensive License to Carry class covers HRS 134-9 (Hawaii's law governing License to Carry holders) and HRS 703 (the general rules for justification, including when use of deadly force is legally justified). The class is intended to give you the skills and knowledge needed to obtain a Hawaii license to carry permit.
What is the Range Safety Officer (RSO) certification?
Our Range Safety Officer certification course teaches range rules, emergency procedures, and proper communication techniques, with hands-on experience under experienced instructors. The course is for individuals seeking certification to oversee firearm activities at public ranges, private clubs, or similar shooting facilities.
Where are your classes held?
Our classroom is located at 2885 Paa St, Suite 101, Honolulu HI 96819. Live-fire portions are held at a partner range; specific range information is provided in your registration confirmation. We are verified by the Honolulu Police Department to teach Basic Firearm Safety and License to Carry classes in Hawaii. Recognition extends to Kauai County and Honolulu County.
