Hawaii Firearms Fundamentals is led by Greg and Roanne Abe, certified firearm instructors through the NRA and USCCA, verified by the Honolulu Police Department to teach Basic Firearm Safety and License to Carry classes in Hawaii.

What sets them apart is simple: they don't just teach firearms. They teach responsibility, confidence, and real-world readiness. Their approach goes beyond meeting requirements: how to safely handle a firearm, how to protect your family, how to make sound decisions under pressure. Every class is designed to prepare students for real-life situations, not just the classroom.

Greg and Roanne are deeply committed to building a community of responsible firearm owners across Hawaii. Their mission is rooted in education, safety, and ongoing growth, because responsible ownership doesn't end when the class is over.

What sets us apart

We intentionally keep class sizes small so every student gets personalized instruction, hands-on guidance, and the opportunity to ask questions in a supportive environment. We break down complex concepts into simple, actionable steps so students leave feeling capable and prepared, building true confidence, not just knowledge.

We support community efforts to defend the Second Amendment in Hawaii: a portion of each student's class fee goes toward the Hawaii Firearms Coalition and Attorney Alan Beck's legal advocacy.

Service area

We serve the Island of Oahu (Honolulu County), and we are also recognized as certified instructors by Kauai County, Maui County, and Hawaii County. Classes are held at an indoor range.
